Details

Melissa comes from the common name Melissa Officinale and is the known elixir of life of the parakellos alchemist. Melissa's essential oil comes from steam distillation of its leaves and has a soft and warm aroma with a touch of honey . It is very rare and usually occurs in a mixture with other oils similar in properties.

The essential oil of Melissa is used in aromatherapy for nervousness, tension, stress, insomnia, infections, fungal infections, eczema, herpes and vitiligo.

Also as antidepressant, antiseptic, bactericidal, sedative, hypnotic, against high pressure and irritability, calms the mind and benefits the cardiovascular system.

The essential oil of Melissa is very well combined with: Lavender, Neroli, Rose, Roman Chamomile, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Marjoram, Ylang-ylang.
