WHAT IS CBD
Hemp contains more than 100 naturally active compounds called cannabinoids. Cannabidiol (CBD) is proven to be the most therapeutic component of the plant, with many scientific studies documenting its action.
WHAT IS CANNABIOLI?
Cannabidiol (CBD), is the main cannabinoid of hemp, a non-psychoactive substance, with many benefits for the body. Clinical research proves that it has a protective and regulatory effect on the CNS (insomnia, chronic anxiety, tension, stress), analgesic effect (very active in migraines, headaches and period pains), soothing and anti-inflammatory effect in pain (rheumatic, etc.), anticonvulsant effect (epilepsy etc.) and finally many studies prove its action in the treatment of important autoimmune diseases (Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis etc.).
WHAT ARE ΤΗΕ CANNABINOIDS
Cannabinoids are either found in the plant and are called phytocannabinoids, or are produced naturally by the human body and are called endocannabinoids.
- These are chemical compounds that interact with the body's central regulatory system called the endocannabinoid system.
- Phytocannabinoids can be consumed by humans, i.e. introduced into the human body through eating, drinking, vaping, smoking, etc.
THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM
Our body has a built-in endocannabinoid system. It is a network of "transmitters" and "receivers" that regulate many basic functions of our body. Cannabinoids are the "messengers" that start from the "transmitters" and end up at the receptors (receivers). Our own body produces cannabinoids, which are called endocannabinoids. But because very often endocannabinoids are broken down in our body, the function of the endocannabinoid system is negatively affected and we need phytocannabinoids – mainly CBD – in order to restore the function of the endocannabinoid system to normal levels. It has two types of receptors, CB1 and CB2.
CB1 Receptors are mainly found in the central nervous system (Cerebral cortex, spinal cord, basal ganglia, hippocampus, abdominal cavity), adipose tissue, muscles, digestive system and others.
CB2 Receptors are found in the Peripheral Nervous System, but mainly in the cells of the Immune System. (lymph nodes, spleen, spinal cord, tonsils, leukocytes, macrophages, bone marrow)
