Ethereal Nature Witchazel (Hamamelis) Dried herb 100gr - Witchazel herb
Hamamelis virginiana is a well-known plant (large shrub or rarely tree) that is thought to originate from North America. It is now widely used as an ornamental plant and is found in gardens around the world.
Historically Hamamelis (Witchazel) was originally used as a herb by the Native American tribes of North America. Its use mainly included the treatment of eye infections and the treatment of insect bites, hemorrhoids, dysentery and skin diseases. Amamelida became known for its properties since 1848, when the American Theron T. Pond "commercialized" its extract based on the knowledge acquired by the Indians of the Oneida tribe.
In modern herbal medicine Hamamelis is mainly used externally in the form of compresses. It is considered to be particularly effective in the treatment of hemorrhoids and varicose veins, and is also regarded as an eye wash that effectively treats eye infections and conjunctivitis. In general Amamelida is considered very good for treating bleeding. The action of Hamamelis is believed to be due to the fact that it shrinks blood vessels and restores them to their normal size.
According to herbalists, preparing a compress is very simple. Put a herb in a saucepan, cover with water and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Drain the herb and dip a clean cloth (towel, gauze, etc.) into the decoction. Place the cloth on the skin (as long as it is warm). Alternatively you can make a poultice by wrapping the herb boiled in a gauze and fastening it to the body.
If you do not wish to go into the process of making the decoction, then we suggest you to check out the 100% natural Witchhazel tincture we offer.
Herbs are and should be treated as medicines. We do not support self-treatment and we recommend that you always consult your doctor before taking them.
