Ethereal Nature Taraxacum Officinale Herb 1kg - Dandelion Herb Of Premium Quality
The Taraxacum (source Wiki) or the Dandelion or the Radish of the Mountain or Taraxacum officinale is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family. It is a plant that reaches a height of 70 cm, which is found in temperate regions all over the world and it looks very much like the well known to all of us. Tarakaxo needs moisture for its growth and that's why we usually find it in meadows, road edges, rock shades, and so on. The fresh leaves of the plant are consumed as a salad and are rich in vitamins A, B and C while their iron content is higher than that of spinach.
Taraxakos (in Greece we know it as a wildcat, dandelion or horseradish) has been known since antiquity. Its name is believed to come either from the Persian tharakhchakon, which is reported by the Arabian Avicenna, or by the Greek Tarraxos. The plant refers to the famous herb book Shennong pen Ts'ao (2,700 BC) and to Tang Materia Medica, as the Chinese used Taraxaco both as a food and as a medicinal herb - used as a breast cancer drug for Over 1,100 years.
In modern herbal therapy, Taraxacos is used for a wide range of health problems, as it seems to have truly admirable properties. One of the important benefits that is attributed to it is its ability to detoxify the body. Taraxaco seems to effectively cleanse blood and tissues from the harmful toxins that accumulate in the body - a very important feature in dermatopathies. The herb is a diuretic and cleanses the urinary system, but in contrast to other diuretic herbs it does not deprive the body of potassium - the large amount of potassium it contains is replenishing the body's losses. It is argued that Taraxac helps to increase the flow of bile and stimulates both the liver and the gall (a feature that many claim to be due to the substance Taracin it contains). The herb seems to have strong antibacterial activity and according to Chinese herbalists it may be effective even in very "strong" bacteria (cases of pneumonia, diphtheria, staphylococcus etc.). There are reports that consumption of Taraxac reduces cholesterol, improves gland function, helps maintain normal body weight and has a positive effect on all liver diseases. Taraxac is said to be one of the best herbs to stimulate, detoxify and regulate the functions of the human body.
According to the Herbalists, Taraxac can become a decoction if you leave it in boiling water for about 15 minutes (estimate how you will need about 1 teaspoon of dried herb for 1 cup of beverage). According to herbalists you can consume up to 3 cups of Taraxak a day (morning, noon, evening before lunch).
