Food supplement that reduces the postprandial glycemic response by inhibiting the enzymatic reaction of carbohydrate digestion. It is useful for reducing glucose levels in pre-Diabetes conditions. It also contributes to cases of Type 1 and 2 Diabetes, and to weight control. It can be combined with antidiabetic medication.

Actions of Ingredients

White mulberry leaf extract, thanks to the substance 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), inhibits α-glucosidase. That is, the enzyme that is primarily responsible for the intestinal transformation of starch and sugars into glucose.
In Glicoper we find the patented form Reducose®, which contains 5% 1-DNJ, an amount approximately 5 times higher than other white mulberry extracts.
Taking Reducose® can lead to a reduction of up to 40% in carbohydrate absorption. This results in reduced postprandial and insulin peaks.
USE

Recommended daily dose:

Adults: 1 capsule, 10 minutes before main meals, up to 3 times a day.

Warnings

Glicoper has an anti-hyperglycemic effect, but by itself does not cause hypoglycemic crises because it does not stimulate insulin release. Patients using insulin or insulin secretagogues may need to adjust their dosage accordingly as they would if they were eating low-carbohydrate and/or high-fiber meals, but will still be able to regulate their blood glucose (by taking glucose, dextrose, etc.), if necessary, as Glicoper® does not affect intestinal glucose transport.
