The Certified Organic ( Certified Organic , Non Genetically Modified ), NOW Amber Agave Nectar is a natural sweetener in liquid form from the plant Agafis .The Agave plant found mostly in Mexico and the southern and western part of North America . With approximately one and half times the sweetness of white sugar , Agave nectar , sweetens napkin coffee , tea and other beverages. It has an exotic flavor - containing maple and honey, and is ideal for cereal , pancakes , waffles and other recipes.

It has a low glycemic index and is solidified at room temperature. It consists of simple sugars ( fructose , glucose or dextrose) and water. Because the sweetness of fructose , 42% sweeter than does crystalline sugar, a small quantity sufficient to achieve the same level of sweetness .

It is also easier to be absorbed and utilized by the body than that of sucrose dialysis products or even the so called " natural sugars". Unlike fructose sweeteners produced chemically , the Agave Nekt contains no sulfur dioxide , hydrochloric acid or other harmful toxins.
