Rosewood, scientific name Aniba rosaedora is an evergreen, tropical medium-sized tree - reaching up to 40 meters high - endemic in Brazil and Peru, which is mainly used for wood. Folk medicine is used by the Amazonian Indians to treat wounds.
Rosewood Essential Oil comes from steam distillation of the tree trunk and has a characteristic sweet, floral and woody aroma, high and medium note and pale yellow, almost transparent. The main molecules of its chemotypic composition are Monopenols up to 95%: lincolol, geraniol, cescterpenes: α-copane and oxides: linalool oxide cis, substances with strong antibacterial, tonic, antiviral and aphrodisiac effect.
