Beta-carotene (or beta-carotene) is one of the most important plant pigments with a wide distribution throughout the plant kingdom. It belongs to the carotenoid family and when taken orally is a precursor to vitamin A. For this reason, it is often referred to in the literature as "provitamin A".

The conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A takes place in the liver, kidneys and intestinal mucosa, at a rate dependent on the physiological needs of the body.

Beta-carotene is considered one of the most important micronutrients, as it is one of the main antioxidants in the diet.

The beta-carotene in this dietary supplement is 100% of natural origin, as it is extracted from the algae Dunaliella Salina.

Dunaliella Salina is a pink algae found on the surfaces of sea lakes and, in addition to beta-carotene, contains small amounts of other carotenoids (lutein and zeaxanthin).

The algae is cultivated in an aquatic environment with a high salt content, which helps prevent contamination of the final product by pathogenic microorganisms.
