Ashwagandha is an herb that grows mostly in India. It was traditionally used in the countries of the Far East as an adaptogenic herb (and therefore it is also known as Indian Ginseng).

The most important phytochemically active substances are Withanolides (or guathinolides), which appear to have a similar structure and biological activity to steroid hormones. Withanolides (or guathinolides) apart from their adaptogenic properties (anti-anxiety and stress management) seem to possess
1. anti-inflammatory properties
2. adjuvant properties
3. testosterone boosting and sperm enhancing properties

This specific preparation is a titrated extract of the ROOT of the herb as only the root contains the Withanolides (or Guathinolides).

It also contains zinc and Vitamin C.
