The aesthetic need for white teeth and a bright smile that we are often "bombarded" with in advertisements has prompted some companies to make toothpastes that (some of them) contain harsh abrasive ingredients that make teeth smooth after brushing, but over time they destroy the enamel. Also, in an effort to convince the consumer that their products guarantee clean breath for hours, they have added strong chemicals as disinfectants and deodorants, chemical dyes and artificial fragrances to cover the awful taste and smell of the chemicals. Some of these chemicals have been accused of allergies, as well as causing serious diseases.

A good toothpaste should:
Contain an antimicrobial agent to combat bacterial plaque and gingivitis.
It should have anti-inflammatory properties to treat and prevent any inflammation.
It should have a pleasant taste to "encourage" us to use it often
It should kill germs, bacteria and fungi to provide clean, pleasant breath.
It should not contain sugar or saccharin, which is sometimes used to give a sweet taste and to cover the strong and often bitter tastes of chemicals.
It should have a hygienic tube (the paste should not come into contact with aluminum. Some companies use aluminum tubes without plasticization)
It should have a low abrasion index. If tooth enamel is damaged, it cannot be regenerated!

Silica as a low abrasion agent with great cleaning and polishing ability, which cleans teeth and effectively fights tartar without causing damage to the natural tooth enamel and damage to the gums.

Pistacia Lentiscus (mastic oil). Our toothpastes contain a significant amount of mastic oil, which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Mastic oil prevents the appearance of bacteria, which are responsible for the formation of microbial plaque, caries, gingivitis and periodontitis. At the same time, mastic oil protects the oral cavity, without reducing the defensive capacity of saliva because the body's saliva itself helps the oral environment to maintain an acid-alkaline balance and fight bacteria. The antimicrobial and antifungal properties of mastic oil prevent stomatitis and oral infections, while its anti-inflammatory properties prevent and treat any inflammation. It also accelerates the healing of mouth ulcers. Clean breath without annoying odors is also achieved not by using mint which has very temporary refreshing properties but with mastic oil which takes care of keeping the mouth clean from germs and bacteria that cause bad odor. Mastic oil also has some analgesic properties very useful for teeth that have already been attacked by caries.

Natural tangerine: For a pleasant, fruity taste.

Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate: disinfectant / cleaning / foaming agent. Our toothpastes contain “Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate” which is not dangerous and NOT sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS)* (Read below about sulphate SLS). Other toothpastes contain “sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS)” which is potentially harmful.

Xylitol: It is a sweetener with a pleasant taste that does not contain sugar. Reduces the levels of bacteria that cause cavities in the mouth and promotes remineralization. It also neutralizes the acids that cause bacteria.

Sage and sage oil. For antiseptic action

Sorbitol: Homogenizing agent. It retains moisture and helps keep the paste in a homogeneous whole.

Xanthan gum. A thickening agent that improves the texture of the toothpaste

Titanium dioxide: White pigment.

Sodium benzoate: Necessary preservative so that the toothpaste does not need to be kept in the refrigerator.
