MANNOVITE

D-Mannose-based dietary supplement and Cranberry extract. With sugars and sweeteners

14 sachets of 4 g

Lower urinary tract infections (UTIs) are very common and affect both sexes and all age groups. Among them, cystitis is the most characteristic clinical syndrome.

D-Mannose is a monosaccharide, inactive, normally found in the human body. After ingestion, it is poorly metabolized and excreted mainly in the urine.

D-Mannose binds the adhesion structures of intestinal bacteria to the urinary tract epithelium, preventing bacterial adhesion to the urinary tract.

Cranberry (fruit of Vaccinium Macrocarpon Aiton) contributes to the elimination of body fluids, the function of the urinary system, the normalization of intestinal function and has antioxidant activity.

MANNOVIT® can be co-administered with antibiotics because the mechanisms of action are different and do not overlap. Its ingredients do not create durability.

Cranberry: Our purple ally…
Cranberry or "Cranberry Acid" as its official name is in addition to a very tasty fruit is also a valuable ally against many diseases and especially against urinary tract infections.

Its purple color is due to its rich antioxidants that help protect our body from cancer, help the proper functioning of the heart and prevent infections of our urinary system. In addition, recent experiments have shown that cranberry consumption helps reduce the levels of oxidative stress that causes plaque.

The cranberry thrives in Northern Europe, but also in North America and can reach a height of 1.20 m. It is said that the name of the plant comes from the pink color of its flowers that look like a crane head (crane in English).
The cultivation of cranberries for commercial purposes began in the 19th century, but the Indians used it many centuries earlier to decorate their feathers and dye various fabrics.

Nutritional value
It is an essential ally of health, but also of our silhouette, as cranberry is rich in nutrients with antioxidant activity and low calories. It is worth noting that half a cup of cranberries contains only 25 calories.

Beneficial properties
Helps prevent and fight urinary tract infections. Cranberry is best known for its role in preventing urinary tract infections, especially for those organisms with recurrent infections. The high level of proanthocyanidins (PAC) in cranberries helps to reduce the adhesion of certain bacteria to the walls of the urinary tract and thus to fight infections.

Cardiovascular diseases. Some evidence suggests that cranberry polyphenols may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) by lowering the blood pressure caused by cranberry consumption.

Helps prevent and fight cancer. Research has shown that eating blueberries (cranberries) works beneficially in slowing the progression of the tumor with positive results against prostate, liver, breast, ovarian and colon cancers.

Contributes to the proper functioning of the digestive system. Recent research has also shown that cranberries are able to help us optimize the balance of bacteria in our digestive system.

D-mannose is a simple sugar, which has a special contribution to metabolism, through its role in the glycosylation of certain proteins. D-mannose is rapidly absorbed and reaches the peripheral organs in about 30 minutes and is then excreted by the urinary system. It cannot be converted to glycogen, therefore it is not stored in the body. Even long-term use of D-mannose, in concentrations up to 20%, showed no side effects on human metabolism.

Mechanism of action in urinary tract infection
Its mechanism of action is expressed by inhibiting the adhesion of E. coli to uroepithelial cells via the FimH surface protein. By the direct binding of FimH to D-mannose bound to a vector protein, which is responsible for receptor specificity. In vitro studies have identified the mannose-specific lectin on the surface of E. coli adherent strains. There are other in vitro studies that have clarified the attachment mechanism.

D-mannose occupies a dominant position in the receptors of bladder cells, in terms of the E. coli uropathogen.

The first adhesion step involves the binding of mannose-sensitive FimH to the bladder epithelium. The bladder wall is coated with various mannose glycosylated proteins, such as Tamm-Horsfall protein (THP) which directly interferes with the adhesion of microbes to the mucosa. Tamm-Horsfall protein (THF) can bind to E. coli with a specific bond, which can be inhibited by exogenous D-mannose.

By inhibiting the adhesion of microbes to the urinary tract epithelium, D-mannose mimics the function of the urinary tract epithelial barrier

The process of microbial adhesion to the cell surface is a critical factor in the occurrence of most infections. This is because specific lectins in the microbial wall are capable of binding molecules, such as D-mannose and L-fucose, that are distributed on the human cell surface.

The mannose molecules act as "receptors", inviting E. Coli fringes to attach. E. coli fringes are surface organelles that mediate binding to structures containing D-mannose.

COMPONENTS

Each MANNOVIT® sachet contains: Mannose · fructose · acidity regulator: citric acid · raspberry aroma · Cranberry e.s. (fruit Vaccinium Macrocarpon Aiton) tit. 30% on proanthocyanidins; red beetroot dyes; sweetener: sucralose; anticoagulant: silicon dioxide.

INDICATIONS

MANNOVIT® is a dietary supplement of D-Mannose and Cranberry extract (Vaccinium Macrocarpon Aiton fruit), useful to compensate for a nutritional deficiency or for increased organic needs of these nutrients. Cranberry (fruit of Vaccinium Macrocarpon Aiton) contributes to the elimination of body fluids, the function of the urinary system, the normalization of intestinal function and the antioxidant action.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Individual hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
If you are taking Barfarin or other anticoagulants, see "SPECIAL WARNINGS"

instructions for use

As a precaution to prevent the recurrence of new recurrences of cystitis, the recommended dosage is 1 sachet per day for at least 1 month.

It is recommended to drink at least 2 liters of water a day, to facilitate urination.

WARNINGS

Store at room temperature (not above 25oC); avoid exposure to local heat sources, sunlight and contact with water.

Keep out of reach of children under 3 years.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
