BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate & Cetearyl Alcohol) is a plant emollient, essentially an ammonium salt derived from the natural Colza oil. BTMS is an excellent hair conditioner (it moisturizes and "nudges" hair) and for this reason you will find it as an ingredient in innumerable hair care products (shampoo, conditioner, hair masks). It is ideal for hair masks that do not rinse with water but remain on the hair as it is particularly mild and does not create greasy. It smoothes the hair, leaving it soft, lively and full of volume.

When used as an ingredient in facial and body care products (creams, lotions, body butters, etc.), BTMS contributes significantly to the skin's becoming a silky feel.

The percentage of use of BTMS in cosmetic products does not exceed 10% (it reaches up to 50%, only when mixed with silicone).

Ethereal Nature BTMS is water-soluble (in warm water), meets all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) specifications and has a pH of 5.5-7.0 (in water). Prepared in Germany by Evonic.
