In specific, Vit C Incell product provides vitamin C from three (3) sources:

• Ascorbyl Palmitate
• Magnesium L-ascorbate
• Calcium L-ascorbate

Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat-soluble derivative of L-ascorbic acid and has high bioavailability due to its amphiphilic (hydrophobic and hydrophilic) nature which allows it to cross the amphiphilic cellular membranes, especially those present in the cells of neuronal tissues.

As a result, vitamin C accumulates in cells and tissues for immediate use when this is required contrary to what is happening with the water-soluble nature of L-ascorbic acid which cannot cross the lipophilic (hydrophobic) cellular membrane.

Other sources of vitamin C present in this product include magnesium L-ascorbate and calcium L-ascorbate, meaning salts if L-ascorbic acid with magnesium and calcium, respectively. These two compounds are buffered, thus less acidic compared to L-ascorbic acid and as a result this helps in preventing gastrointestinal disturbances, such as stomach upset and diarrhoea that occasionally appears in people with sensitivity in consuming L-ascorbic acid.

According to European Regulation 432/2012 vitamin C is a nutrient which contributes to:

• normal function of the immune system and of the nervous system as well as to normal energy-yielding metabolism
• the protection of cells from oxidative stress
• the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
• increasing iron absorption
• normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels, of bones and of cartilage

Vit C Incell also provides the amino acids L-proline and L-lysine which are precursor molecules for the synthesis of hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine, respectively.

The latter two amino acids are structural components of collagen, meaning of the protein which is necessary for the normal function of cartilage, bones and blood vessels. Vitamin C also contributes to the normal formation of collagen.
