How effective Bactoblis ® is
Bactoblis® has been studied and documented for several years. Its efficacy and safety have been demonstrated in the hospital and ambulatory patients with clinical studies in both children and adults.

Results in adults
In studies conducted in adults with recurrent pharyngugalmitis, Bactoblis reduced the infective events of the pharynx and tonsils by approximately 84% after 3 months of treatment. 

Results in children
In studies conducted in children with otitis media and recurrent pharyngu-mumps, Bactoblis® reduced more than 90% of the manifestations of bacterial pharyngitis, reduced 80% of the virus infections and decreased by approximately 50% of otitis media after 3 months of treatment . 

Further information
After discontinuation of therapy, Bactoblis® retained its protection for an additional 6 months, reducing the incidence of over 60% in previously treated patients.

Streptococcus salivarius subsp. salivarius (often referred to simply as Streptococcus salivarius) is present in the oropharynx, to a greater or lesser extent in all individuals.

The probiotic strain Streptococcus salivarius K12 (known as the BLIS® K12 system) is a human production strain that has been used for several years as an oral probiotic for the restoration of normal oropharyngeal microflora. The use of this strain is only allowed after having passed various safety tests.

The tests submitted related to antibiotic resistance, potential infectivity, toxic metabolic potential or microbial variants, genetic stability and tolerance. All this was evaluated in animals and humans, even at high doses. Its genotoxicity was also taken into account. Results from different (acute and sub-acute) toxicity tests showed no genotoxicity and demonstrated the extremely high safety profile of the Streptococcus salivarius strain. It has also not been found to be a transmissive antibiotic resistance vehicle, but, on the contrary, it has proved to be sensitive to all common antibiotics. It has not shown the ability to acquire virulence or the ability to cause potential variants of microbial pathogens.

Based on the published data and in relation to the significant number of doses already used in humans without the occurrence of any side effects, it can be concluded that the use of Streptococcus salivarius K12 appears to be detrimental to humans.

In confirmation of the data, all clinical trials conducted with Bactoblis ® demonstrated the high degree of tolerance of the product and the complete lack of side effects resulting from its use.
