Nicotinamide is a water-soluble vitamin. It is part of vitamin B group. Nicotinamide does not cause flushing, itching, or burning feeling in the skin.

A well-known cause of nicotinamide deficiency is bacterial overgrowth in the small intestinal. It is present in more than fifty metabolic reactions including the essential function of Krebs cycle. Not only is important in energy production, but in protecting your body against excessive tissue damage.

It is necessary for a wide variety of enzymatic oxidation-reduction reactions essential for tissue respiration, lipid metabolism, and glycogenolysis. Last but not least it helps neurological balance.

Nicotinamide occurs in trace amounts mainly in meat, fish, nuts, and mushrooms, as well as to a lesser extent in some vegetables.
