What is smectiGo and what is it used for?

smectiGo® is a medical device, a ready-to-take suspension supplied in a single-dose sachet for oral administration. Suitable for:

The treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 8 years of age.
The treatment of chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain in adults.
The main ingredient of smectiGo® is diosmectite. Diosmectite is a natural clay that helps to subside and heal diarrhea and relieve abdominal pain. How does it work?

Binds toxins and germs (bacteria and viruses) and helps remove them from your body
It protects the intestinal system and contributes to the repair of intestinal damage with its natural covering properties.
Dosage

Children (aged 8 to 15 years): 2 sachets initially, followed by one sachet after each passing of soft stools, up to 4 sachets per day.

Adults and Children over 15 years of age: 2 sachets initially, followed by one sachet after each passing of soft stools, up to 6 sachets per day.

Instructions for use

This medical device is taken orally and is ready to take. The contents of the sachet can be swallowed directly. Shake the sachet before opening. Each sachet should be used only once after opening.

Precautions

Do not take smectiGo:

If you are allergic to diosmectite or any of the other ingredients.
If it is a child under 8 years of age with acute diarrhoea.
If it is a child with chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain.

It should be used with caution in patients with a history of severe constipation. Contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg per daily dose.

It should be taken at a distance from meals and other medicines you usually take (more than 2 hours if possible).

After treatment it is possible to experience some side effects such as constipation.

Prolonged or repeated use of smectiGo is not recommended. In cases of chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain, if symptoms persist for more than two weeks, consult your doctor so that the underlying causes can be investigated before you can continue your treatment.

Contraindications-Interactions

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
